This is it. The college football game of the year. For those who arent big fans, if you watch one college game this year, it should be this one. The Florida Gators, 12-0 and ranked #1 against the Alabama Crimson Tide, 12-0 and ranked #2. The winner plays in the national championship game but for all intents and purposes, this is the real championship game being played. Even if the winner has a letdown and loses the next game, these are the two best talent rich and best coached teams in college football this year.

Florida will of course be led by what more and more football historians are saying is the greatest college football player ever - Tim Tebow. This is his penultimate college game before he hits the NFL. Florida also happens to be the defending national champions.

Alabama is led by this year's Heisman Trophy favorite (supposedly given to the best player in college football), Mark Ingram. If he wins, he will be only the second sophomore ever to win it (the other one was Tim Tebow). Alabama is also loaded with other explosive young players who will some day be household NFL names and your future fantasy football draft picks like - Julio Jones, Trent Richardson and Marquis Maze on offense and Rolando McClain and Terrence Cody on defense.

This is a rematch of the SEC title game from last year when Tebow rallied his team in the final minutes to pull out a victory against the then undefeated Tide. Florida is a 6 point favorite but if i were betting, I would gladly take Alabama plus the 6 points. I think that Alabama has the better talent and depth this year. Both teams have excellent coaching. The only question mark about Alabama is their QB who is a bit inconsistent but with all the weapons they have, especially at running back and wide receiver, i think that they will pull it out. They also have the talent to slow Tebow's spread offense down if not shut him down completely.

If Florida wins this game, it will be because of Tebow and a second Heisman should rightfully be headed his way. I think either Ingram or Tebow will win the Heisman will a solid performance and a team victory in this game. The only other player in the running is Colt McCoy from Texas who also plays the same day in a(n) (inferior) conference title game but who nevertheless is also an outstanding talent.

Just learned that the game is being streamed on the net by CBSSports.com so no need to mess with illicit underground tv links unless HD quality or something is an issue. Game starts at 4 pm Eastern Time on Saturday.

While Iam a huge Michigan fan, Iam pulling for the Gator's just so an NFL wash out don't win the National Championship. Saban left the Dolphins in such bad shape, he doesn't deserve any kind of accolades, he should have been a man and stayed it out.

Besides, Tebow has God on his side, like any team has a fucking chance.

Bama open the game in a Gator spread offense formation (they arent a spread team) and draws first blood, 3-0. How long before they bring out the Wildcat with Ingram?

WOW, Bama comes out ready to play and leads 9-0. I cant remember the last time the Gators trailed anyone by 9 pts except maybe this game last year. I think they caught the Gators unprepared by coming out in a spread and passing so much but Florida sees that in practice every day so they should be able to make the proper adjustments to shut it down. Bama defense shutting down Tebow so far.

Great first half. Although Bama has the statistical edge, they have to be thinking about the game last year where Tebow took over the 4th quarter and beat them. If I were Bama, I would not be breathing easy with anything less than a 3 score lead going into the 4th. These are the type of games that Tebow has built his legendary status on.

Tebow has been neutralized mostly by the Bama offense keeping him on the sideline. Bama has also done a great job of stopping the TE Hernadez but at the price of giving up big plays by Wes Welker-like Riley Cooper.

On the other side, the surprise so far has to be the good play of the Bama QB. Bama needs to keep the pressure on and get their playmaker Julio Jones more involved. Fla has been skewing their coverage towards him which has opened things up for the other receiver Maze. This is setting up for a nail bitting end.

Bama completely dominated the 3rd quarter and is putting together an epic drive to make it a 3 score lead going into the 4th. They need a score to cap it. A turnover here can completely change the Tide of this game.

Great job and win for Bama handing Tebow his worst loss and leaving him in tears. They did everything right and shut him down in the second half in sharp contrast to 2008.

Now all eyes shift to Texas to see who will play Alabama for the national championship. Even without a true playoff, college football blows the NFL and every other sport out of the water for atmosphere, intrigue and excitement.

UT Blows.. If not for the BOGUS MYSTERY CALL they would have dropped three games this year

Just because a defender has his back turned to the play DOES NOT mean there was contact. .. Texas was gifted a first and goal when they should have been kicking a field goal.
