According to the LSU SID posting on Coach Miles' twitter account, Trindon Holiday just broke Chris Johnson's official combine record for the 40 by running a 4.22.

I wonder how fast Dexter McCluster will run. He may not beat Holiday but he should be near the all time fastest RB's.

No, it's semi-electronic now. It starts manually and the splits and final time are electronic. But everyone there has their own stopwatch, that's why sometimes you see a bunch of different times. The NFL posts the official electronic times on their site.

As far as credence, last year Chris Johnson and Johnny Knox were two unknowns who smoked the field and you saw what they did in the NFL. Knox was a late round draft pick who had a decent rookie year for the Bears and Johnson was almost the league MVP. Speed kills!

Edit - i think the RBs and WR's run on Sunday morning as well as the QB's (Bradford, McCoy, Tebow).

Wow, is Tim Tebow ready for this? He just posted the best ever vertical jump ever for QB's at 38.5 inches. Half an inch better than Michael Vick did. The average for QB's is 32.

Disappointing 40 time for Dexter McCluster but CJ Spiller delivered as promised. This years rookie draft class for running backs is going to be incredible with Spiller leading the way and players like Ben Tate, McCluster, Jahvid Best and so many others who have the potential to make an immediate impact this year. Some teams are going to find some late round steals with guys like Tate.

Oh and btw, in case I havent met my quota for praising Tebow enough this week, he continued to tear it up. After a vertical jump of 10 ft 10 inches, he broad jumped longer than all but one QB, he ran a 4.7 beating Colt McCoy's 4.79 AND he smoked the other QB's in the 3 cone drill. So far, he has to be considered one of the the big winners going head to head against his peers. Ill upload and post some more Youtubes later.

People who claim that American football players are fat and wear padding and the usual ignorant crap, this is what I mean when I stated that you could field an Olympic team in several events that would be competitive just with players from the NFL. No other team sport that I know can claim that. These 5 guys are going to be in the NFL next month.

My fantasy football rookie draft pick from this group which i always lose out on to the computer autodraft anyways (Chris Johnson 08, Percy Harvin 09) is C.J. Spiller. I think he's going to tear it up Chris Johnson style if he doesnt get hurt.

Edit - the NFL Combine ended today and here are the top 5 fastest players going by the official time (which is somewhat dubious). Jeff Demps has another a year of college football before coming out.

1. Jacoby Ford (Clemson)   4.28
2. Trindon Holliday (LSU)   4.34
3. Jahvid Best (California)   4.35
4. C.J. Spiller (Clemson)    4.37
5. Dorin Dickerson (Pitt)    4.40 (a tight end!)

Three players were timed at 4.27 seconds or faster at the Indianapolis combine last month, including a 4.21 by LSU wide receiver Trindon Holliday and a 4.22 by Clemson wide receiver Jacoby Ford, according to official records sent to NFL teams last week.

Those times are the best ever clocked at an Indianapolis combine. Clemson running back C.J. Spiller's 4.27 also ranks among the top 10, according to NFL team sources and research by NFLDraftscout.com. However, those times are not being acknowledged as best ever by NFL.com because they were recorded as hand-held rather than electronic watches.
