It looks like we shall have our election on May 6th. The PM hasn't said so because he has a reputation for NOT holding elections, as he was not elected  but now there is no choice.

We have Conservative and Labour as our two main parties and Liberal Democrats as a third lesser party.

We don't vote for our prime minister, we vote for the party.

It's getting down and dirty and politicians actually believe we care about bullying or whether a man who pays taxes on the money he earns in the UK doesn't pay on that he earns in other countries.

Frankly this is Westminster bubble gone stupid. I just want my bins emptied and my council to accept plastics!

Personally I'm hoping for a hung parliament followed by a market crisis leading to a collapse in the country's credit rating and a huge fuck off garage sale with the Greeks and Icelanders.

The quicker we run out of credit the quicker we'll stop stomping around the world like Nazis slaughtering perfectly innocent foreigners

We have a Tory MP here whose family had lived in the county since year dot I Imagine. He is privately educated and in adition to being a farmer and publisher has a seat on the board at Barclays bank (the one that did not recieve a bail out). he doesn't claim for the flat he owns in London under the second homes allowance and although I am not Tory inclined...I am inclined to him having watched him sort out a few issues.

Today I recieved an piece of junk mail that was not addressed to me personally from the Lib dem candidate who informed me that this MP was a highly educated banker and a multi millionaire whereas she was a poor hard working counsellor with little education.

Leaving aside the idea that her rival may actually be hard working as well. The lady in question would be claiming for her second house on expenses and is recommending herself to me on the grounds that she is ill-educated and has no experience in dealing with money! And as a counsellor her expenses are parrallel with his! How does that work?

I think I want that job!

The whole thing needs to be torn down and started again Oliver Cromwell style.  How can one have any faith in a system that has a Prime Minister sat in front of an enquiry saying that the troops had all the equipment they could possibly want when theres been a non stop 7 year moanfest about shytebags gear or complete lack of stuff from the military.

I couldnt be any more apathetic about politics in the UK even if I fell out of an apathy tree and got run over by a could give a fuck steamroller

I watched Blairs re-emergence at Sedgefield and things are set to look interesting. The emphasis on the Tories lack of explanantion to their core mantra ''time for change'' gave me pause to consider. What exactly are they (the cons) proposing that will make our society more equitable and fair for all? If we cannot spell out this ''change'' very quickly, then like Blair (pitifully put it), we're vacuous at best. Ironically he is giving us some good advice.

But why would he offer good advice? because Blair knows, to heed it and change course we'd look stupid, and if we stick to our guns and fail to define the change then we will fail. Awkward predicament to find yourself in.
