Didn't Duke delete the carnage? 
Yep, no surprise it was all deleted. Probably wasnt Duke though as I
previously explained here.Here's Rudedog's post on the night of the deletions..
The thing with him and me started way back and slowly percolated until the point of the deletions. Here's the long story because Ive never told it and some new faces who werent around back then are curious about it. The untold story...
It goes back to a time when we were DOS'ed off the internet for about a month by BHers and those associated with that forum. The was the worst period ever for FC. The host that Rudey had sucked and every time we tried to come back online, we would get DOS'ed off again. At the time, I didnt know a thing about databases, being an admin and mitigating DOS attacks. Rudey didnt know that much either. I had to learn all the shit on the fly.
We spent countless of hours, day after day converting the forum from phpBB to SMF, moving servers, creating a new forum, managing a blog to keep people updated, creating a temp forum for our restless members who were wondering if FC was ever going to come back and trying to stop the DOS attacks without any help from the shitty host. All this in between both of our very busy work schedules.
Twap, Cardie, Humble Brain, Brimstone, IYE, Shadow and just about every other reg at the time was supportive and helpful in varying degrees when we moved to a temp forum. The only one MIA who didnt lift a finger either to help with a single task or offer some support was the Senior Global Moderator Iron Duke. The one besides Twap who we needed the most.
It sure would have been nice had he been there during the FC darkest days to help keep the sinking ship afloat but he had other ideas and was miles away by himself in a life boat. Personally, I think he was butthurt that Rudey choose me to be an admin over him (and he was there at FC much longer than me) but that's just my opinion.
From my point of view, things only got worse with him. Not only did he not even LOGIN to FC for 9 months after we finally came back online better than ever, he was living it up every day with the very people responsible for DOSing us who were laughing at our hardships and spreading lies about us as usual.
Thats when I started talking to Rudedog about removing Duke. In all my years at FC and dealing with Rudey, that was the only time we did not agree on something related to the forum. It was his board and i never lost focus of my place in it there so i respected his decision and didnt it press it other than to bring it up again in a PM a second time months later.
Cut to 9 months after the DOS attacks with me as admin of FC and FC is at the peak of its popularity. It was getting more traffic than it ever had and than any other flame forum including Duke's hangout for the past 9 months so one day, he decided to show up back to FC to bask in its newly created popularity like nothing had happened.
I immediately pounced on him after his first post in the reg room about his lack of service and trying to worm his way back into the good graces because suddenly this was the place to be. From there our feud spilled over to the main forum and ballooned for a couple of months.
I decided that I was going to keep riding him hard because I suspected he was close to the breaking point based on the tone of his posts which were never like that before. It wasnt like it was one single thread where i came down on him; it was every chance I got to flame him over a 2 to 3 month period which drove him over the edge.
The last episode which sent him reeling was when Havok supposedly posted his telephone number in the main forum. I got there two days after this happened to find Duke going bonkers (to use a cardie term) in the mod room flaming Twap, AW, VC and the other mods for not removing his info.
So of course i immediately jumped right in and lead the charge against his feined anger and hypocrisy by pointing out that he was a fucking global mod, he knew what his telephone number was and the rest of us didnt, he could have removed his own PI at any time between when he first saw it and after a quite a few flame posts in the mod room about it. He choose to flame other mods instead of removing his own phone number. It wasnt long after that when he tapped out by giving his mod account away which then lead to the deletions.
Before Rudey made me an admin and the DOS attacks happened, he was always cool with me. All the flaming we did to each other was in fun and we never had any type of serious personal issue between us. I have to agree with deB and think that deep down, he has to regret how he completely lost the plot and fucked over Rudey and the board he helped to establish for so many years.
Maybe he thought Rudey was a pushover and would forgive him like Doomsday did to everyone of his mods who has fucked him over again and again but Rudey dont play that game and neither do I.
In any case, that is the long retrospective about the lead up to the 70,000 deleted posts. Of course, the deleted posts are the save face topic of conversation that you ever hear from Bawl hallers and him instead of the epic ownage which caused it.
I felt a complete sense of vindication after that happened because everything I said about him to Rudey and everyone else was proven correct by his own actions and it was all a reaction to my typed words on the screen. His response to me flaming him on a flame board was to give his mod account up so that others could delete all traces of it. Thus, i dont hate him or anything like some people think. How can I hate him when I owned him so thoroughly and completely?
I had plans to ask Rudey to lift his banning after a couple of years had I still been there at FC but im not sure he would have lifted it. That would have made for an interesting reunion had it happened.
