Well, we almost got the best four teams during the season playing for a chance at the Super Bowl. At halftime you could clearly see what happened as about to happen. They were completely outplaying and out celebrating the Jets but only had a 7 - 0 lead. One pick 6 or a slipped db away from a tie game and panic setting in when realizing that their first half domination and celebrations didnt match the score or the reality of the situation.
Sure enough, they missed field goals, turned the ball over, committed critical penalties and gave up the big play in the fourth quarter and lost the game. They didnt put the Jets away when they had things going their way and now their 13-3 record is for nothing but a sign of post season futility and they lose to a 9-7 team who just barely made it to the post season.
As I said before, so many times these football games are like Shakespearean tragic stories, especially in the playoffs. I have to give credit to Rex Ryan though. He might come across as an arrogant, disrespectful prick but im sure that his players love his brashness and more importantly, he can out coach just about anyone's (except the Dolphins's Wildcat) offense with his overload blitz hybrid Bears 46 Defense. Bill Walsh must be rolling in his grave.
