Fucking Tom Brady never ceases to amaze me. The guy comes back from a 53 week injury lay off and throws for 378 and 2 TD in his first game back, both in the final 2 mins to bring his team back from way down.

Best QB in the league still? I think so. As good as Brees and Manning are, if I had to wager my life on a single game and I got to choose the QB that would be playing for my team I'd have Brady in there.

One thing I noticed last night, the Patriots O-line looks no where near as good as in the past years. That's not good for Brady when their best lineman, Matt Light looked like a turnstile letting people past him. They got the Rex Ryan defense this week followed by John Abraham and the Falcons the next. I can't wait to see those matchups.

Manning appears to have lost something on offense too and on the downward slope of his peak. Obviously he lost Harrison and Gonzalez but his line appears to be holding up better than Brady's. Brees is still peaking. Tough to choose one of those to win a game but if I had to right now, I would go with Brees. The Buffalo Bills kickoff return fumble to hand the game to Brady on a silver platter was just Alice in Wonderland-esque.

Brock sucks!

I'm not suggesting that the Pats are the best team, just that Brady is the best QB. Until Brees wins even 1 big game he can't be compared to Brady.

You may be right about Brady being the best QB but what Im suggesting is that you have to take the QB along with the team. For years Brady was invincible because of his pocket presence and the protection that his line afforded him. Same with Manning. Now, not so much. You may see a totally different Brady this year if his line doesn't hold up and keeps playing like Monday night. It's not often that you see Brady throw a pick 6 like Favre.

Instead of having time to throw 50 tds and only 6 ints, more of his passes may be rushed resulting in more average qb numbers. As much as people in football always like to single out individual performances for weekly awards, all-pro status, hall of fame, etc, it is very much a team game. Put Brady behind the Lions line and you will never know he was any good. Without a good line, Brady becomes Ben Roethlisberger or Eli Manning.

Due to a weaker D, Brady is going to have to be passing a bit more this year playing catch-up, methinks.

To further expand on my previous post, last year Cassel played in the same system as Brady and behind the same line and he had an outstanding year which lead to a franchise tag, a multi-million dollar contract / trade and a starting job.

This year, the same player who had Brady-like numbers only a year older is playing behind the Chiefs' o-line and a different system. Let's see if he fares anywhere near as good as he did in NE last year.

What Im saying is that Brady is good but you cant shower all that credit onto him alone. He's been very fortunate to have a fine line, the best coaches, good wr's and the perfect system for his skills. Without any of those components, Brady isnt the Brady we all know about.

Just wait til Belichick snags Tim Tebow and builds a spread offense around him next year.

Cassel didn't have anything close to Brady-like numbers in NE. Brady, with the same weapons Cassel had, threw 50 TDs, 4800 yards and lead his team to a 16-0 regular season and a Superbowl appearance. Cassel lead the Pats to an 11-5 record. That's 5 losses worse. That's a fucking ton. It just didn't seem like a huge drop off because 11-5 is still a good record. If the Pats had finished 12-4 the previous year and Cassel took over and they ended up 5 losses worse at 7-9 would anyone think Cassel is a good QB?

Cassel 2008 = 23 TD / 13 INT's / 3900 yds/ 88 QB rtg/ 11-5 record

Brady 2006 = 24 TD / 12 INTs/ 3500 yds/ 88 QB rtg / 12-4 record
Brady 2005 = 26 TD / 14 INTs/ 4100 yds/ 92 QB rtg/ 10-6 record
Brady 2004 = 28 TD/ 14 INTs/ 3700 yds/ 93 QB rtg/ 14-2 record
Brady 2003 = 23 TD/ 12 INTs/ 3600 yds/ 86 QB rtg/ 14-2 record
Brady 2002 = 28 TD/ 14 INTs/ 3800 yds/ 86 QB rtg/ 9-7 record

Cassel didnt have anything close Brady like numbers? Come on, man! Don't get drunk off the 50 TD year. Cassel was on his way to becoming the next Tom Brady in NE because of the outstanding line, coaching and system they have/had in place there.  If they lose the line play this year, youre going to see a drastic change in the numbers above.

Yeah but everyone else laughed at you for choosing LT over Adrian Peterson, Turner, Brees, D. Williams, etc.

What's worse, blowing a 9th rd pick on Orton or the first pick of the draft on a player to headline your injured reserves?  WAHAHAHA~ :lmao: :lmao: :rotf:

While your statistical analysis of Brady's numbers might convince some people that you have a point I assure you that the only point you have is the one sticking out of your pelvis when you dream about Matt Cassel being as good as Tom Brady.

You're comparing Cassels numbers WITH Moss and Welker to Brady's numbers without. I clearly stated in my post that with the SAME weapons, Cassel did only half as well as Brady and had 5 more losses. That's a fact. Undisputable. Undeniable.

If you think Brady is just another QB and that anyone could do as well as him if they played for the Pats you clearly don't watch his games. Brady does more for his team before each snap than any other QB in the league including Manning. He's busy picking apart defenses and getting that info to his receivers before the play even begins. He has phenomenal vision and timing. Those are things that can't be taught. He's poised under any amount of pressure. He flat out knows how to win.

Cassels numbers were embarrassing compared to Brady's, no matter how you try to slice it. In the same system. With the SAME players.
