The African-American announcer, Gus Johnson, actually had to apologize for what he said because apparently some hypersensitive PC types read race into his comment.

"If there is a perception of racism in this analogy, it is not coming from me. People of all races have run from the law. However, to those who are offended, I apologize."

Never mind that he use to say the same thing about his grandkids in home movies before that and that he was one of the only mainstream media members that stood with Ali when Ali refused induction into the war and all his other work concerning Jackie Robinson and racial injustice; he was branded a racist.

That's where I got the monkey comment, B. I got the genetics/slave comment from Jimmy the Greek. Nothing would have happened to each one today because people are actually more tolerant and understanding...and damage control is better than those days. They would have immediately apologized and it would have went away....unless they did it again.

Iam not sure about that. Last week, Bob Griese was suspended for making a stupid but innocuous "taco joke" about a Colombian race car driver. We're almost to the point that unless it's pro wrestling or HBO comedy, it's not ok to say anything remotely relating to ethnicity or race on tv in way which can be perceived to be disparaging. I think things are getting worse, not better.

Credit where its due, no other nation does muscle like you lot, the Ford GT, Dodge Challenger, Shelby Cobra et al are timeless classics but you fuckers fell right out of the style tree and got hit by every tacky branch on the way down.

A few years back there was a Rugby documentary style film that followed the British Lions tour to South Africa. What was brilliant about it was the mic coverage, not just on the sidelines, you could hear exactly what was being said on
the field...fucking fruity

Has there ever been a similar NFL type film that takes you into the huddle and line of scrimmage cos that is something I'd love to see.
