Actually, the US could use some more good scripted television. We have too many talk shows. Jay Leno's show is appalling.
From dawn to 2 AM, we have dozens of crappy talk shows, and that's just the networks. Dave is the only one I can stomach.

We need more shows like Larry Sanders. If you want to go back 20 years, go back to that.

Also, Dave might not be the liberated womens cup of politically correct tea, but what would they replace him with at that hour? One of those abysmal celebrities-playing-poker shows? Like I want to see Andrew Dice Clay or Gavin MacLeod amping up the drama with a pair of threes. Please.

Holy shit has it really been 20 years since Larry Sanders Show? Ack! I'm fucking old!

LOL those celebrity shows are fucking retarded. Everyone LOVES Dancing with the Stars and that other Dancing show but the judges give me seizures when they screetch.

Very interesting information disclosed..

Stephanie Birkitt, a longtime Letterman staff member, also lived for a time with Mr. Halderman. Ms. Birkitt is on a paid leave of absence, according to a spokesman for Mr. Letterman's production company, Worldwide Pants.

This cracks the door for the possibility of collusion or possibly this lady talking too much in her sleep.

I use to love the Larry Sanders show. Very good writing and always funny but that wasnt a real talk show. It was a parody of them. Arlis was another somewhat similar parody on sports agents which was great. I dont think it's been 20 yrs, has it??

When I was just out of college, I used to live with a chick about 10 years older than me and she would sit up in bed to listen to me talk in my sleep.

I can imagine Birkitt working crazy hours and commuting to Connecticut.  That kind of stress could make anyone talk in their sleep.  And I could imagine Halderman feeling not worthy of this younger chick, sitting up in bed trying to get a leg up on her psyche.

Think about this for a minute -- she knew back in January or so that Halderman read her diary as that's when he confronted her about its contents, and then stayed with him for six more months.

I wonder if Dave was informed back then about the diary and Halderman's sneaky reading of it.

If I was Dave, and I just found out in September that my close friend and office squeeze kept a detailed diary about me that was read last January by a guy I hate who works in tabloid television, I would blow my top.

So I sense you'd leave the Regs over it?

I may pay for that flip remark, but my TV is behaving oddly so i'm a bit devil take the hindmost at the mo.

And go-cart Mozart was checkin' out the weather chart to see if it was safe outside
And little Early-Pearly came by in his curly-wurly and asked me if I needed a ride

Rabbit, I'd storm out of that asscave so fast that the wind in my wake would loosen toupees.

...then someone would bite me, and it would just go downhill from there.

Diaries are a lawyer's best friend. This is getting more interesting by the day.. David Letterman's former mistress Stephanie Birkitt banned from Late Show set

So .... fast forward a few months, and Dave is sitting pretty, so unscathed that he can make Tiger Woods jokes with impunity.

He's also the go-to guy for laughs regarding the Jay/Conan/NBC drama.

As far as that train wreck is concerned, old NBC war horse Dick Ebersol has come out swinging, eviscerating Conan publicly and brutally in a series of quotes he gave to Bill Carter of the NY Times.

And, it appears that the "I'm with Coco" internet activists got him back. Go read Dick Ebersol's wiki page. The way his NBC career history reads like a shopping list of Fail, it just has to be mischief. That bit about experimenting with homosexuality in college seems a little hinky, too.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_Ebersol

Maybe that guy Ebersol is as bad a network programmer as he's portrayed to be here. He's been quoted today in the papers saying that NBC's Olympic coverage will lose 200 million for the network, and he's been the one in charge of that.

Meanwhile, far away in another part of town
Rubin carter and a couple of friends are drivin around.

My 7 year old plays that track at least 3 times a day. I started off being proud of a kid with impeccable and advanced musical taste now i just want to smash his hi-fi through the window. Bob's great but there's enough and then enough.  :hammer:
